HMS 'Trafalgar' (1887)

Scale: 1: 24. A model of a half midship section of HMS Trafalgar (1887) made entirely in metal with wooden fittings and painted in realistic colours. The model shows the iron framing, bulkheads, decks and hull plating. The hull is painted brick red below the waterline, black above and all the internal frames, decks and bulkheads are painted a blue-grey. The two uppermost decks are clad in wood, scored and stained to resemble hardwood planking. The wooden deck pieces are broken at either end in a stylised fashion. Five decks are shown, one large bulkhead and a smaller bulkhead. The model is displayed on a rectangular mahogany baseboard with bevelled edges and bun feet and supported by two metal stabilisers.

The base is inscribed 'Trafalgar midship section scale 1/2 inch to the foot'. A label reads 'Ex Victory Ship'.
