IJN 'Seiki' (1875)

Scale: 1:48. A full hull model of the Japanese screw sloop 'Seiki' (1875) made entirely in wood with metal and organic material fittings and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted dark green below the waterline, with a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. The vessel is depicted barque rigged with set sails on all three masts. Two jib-sails are rigged to the bowsprit; the foremast and mainmast each have three square sails set with spankers; and there are two sails on the mizzen. The sails are stitched from individual cloths and include reef points, cringles and boltropes. An Imperial Japanese naval ensign is flying from the peak of the gaff. All masts, spars and yards are depicted in polished wood. Other fittings include companion ladders and lifebuoys rigged on the hull, a full set of armament and anchor gear, four-bladed propeller, and a set of five boats rigged from davits. The majority of the metals fittings have been silvered.

Original size: 698 mm x 1535 mm x 380 mm
