Oval locket, contained within a glazed, gold alloy setting. On the front of the locket is a miniature, painted on ivory depicting a seaman pointing to a warship in the background, inscribed above the image are the words 'NELSON FOR EVER'. There is a compartment at the back of the locket, which is lined with white petersham and contains a lock of blond hair.
