Medal commemorating Admiral Willem Crul of Holland and West Friesland; reverse
Medal commemorating Admiral Willem Crul (1721-1781). Obverse: Bust of Admiral Crul in a short wig and uniform coat over armour (to the right, head three-quarters). Reverse: A weeping figure of Mercury, a caduceus in his left hand, mourns at a monument (nine sparkling stars surmounting a mortuary urn, which is encircled by a laurel wreath). The urn stands on a plinth with a relief of a naval engagement; a trophy to the left.
