Medal commemorating the fourth centenary of the discovery of Brazil, 1900. Obverse: Within a laurel wreath bust of the discoverer Admiral Pedro Alvares Cabral (three-quarter left), coastline and a ship in distance behind (left) a trophy consisting of an orb, anchor, etc. below. Reverse: Within a band with stars, a kneeling winged figure, crowned and draped, writing an inscription on a rock.
