Medal commemorating the action of Ile de Groix, 1795 and Admiral Alexander Hood, 1st Viscount Bridport (1727-1814). Obverse: The Admiral's bust (right), pigtail, uniform. Ribbons over right shoulder, under coat. Legend: 'A . A . HOOD LORD BRIDPORT ADMIRAL OF THE WHITE'. Reverse: Victory, one foot on a point of land projecting into the sea, holds aloft a naval crown, several captured French flags in the other hand. Two squadrons on the horizon.
