Medal commemorating the committee of Marine Insurers of Bordeaux. Obverse: A female figure reclining in an antique boat with single mast and sail set, her left hand on the rudder, her right holding the sheet; an anchor at her feet; lightning from a cloud above, a star (left). Reverse: Within a cable, knotted below, inscription. Below, a grape vine spray and date, 1 July 1849.
