Reverse: Inscription, 'THE BRIDGE WAS OPENED BY H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES ON TUESDAY MARCH 4, 1890. LENGTH ONE MILE AND 1,005 YARDS. FROM THE BASE OF THE DEEPEST PIER TO THE TOP OF THE CANTILEVERS THE TOTAL HEIGHT IS 450 FEET, THE TWO LONGEST SPANS ARE EACH 1,710 FEET WIDE. THE BRIDGE WAS BEGUN IN DECEMBER 1882, AND ITS CONSTRUCTION HAS COST TWO MILLION & A QUARTER STERLING.'Lauer Bros.
