Mercator map of the world, 1606
This chart of the world was made in Amsterdam. It shows the Mercator projection, Azores meridian with two polar insets and the sea area is decorated with ships and monsters. It has highly decorative borders, on the top is the sun, moon and the five known planets, on the bottom are the seven wonders of the world, on the left are the elements and on the right are the seasons.
