Model of a lobster pot
A professionally made model of a hooped-cane lobster pot originally with two natural stone pebbles, one now missing, lashed in as weights. The wooden base bears an artfully falsified 'LONDON' inscription to suggest that it is made of pieces of old packing crate, represented in miniature. From the studio collection of Clarkson Stanfield RA (Bagshawe Collection, acq. 9.04).
