National flag of Portugal (after 1911)
National flag of Portugal, post 1911 design. The flag is made of synthetic fibre bunting, machine sewn with the design printed onto the fabric. The hoist is made of a linen cotton blend and contains a rope and two flag clips. Design: divided vertically green and red towards the hoist. On the divide, a yellow armillary sphere on which are the arms of Portugal â”œÂ½Ã”Ã»Ãªâ”œÃ¯ gules an escutcheon argent and five gold castles, with five smaller escutcheons azure on the escutcheon, each charged with five bezants. The armillary sphere has been sewn on crooked.
