Naval cutlass exercise including preparatory movements and words of command

Cutlass drill, a series of exercises on how to use the short, broad-bladed sword, was not introduced into the Royal Navy until just before the 1820s. After this date the cutlass was adopted as an effective hand weapon. Henry Angelo junior who issued this print was a well-known fencing instructor.
