Captain's naval gold medal for the battle of the Nile awarded to Edward Berry (1768-1831).Reverse inscription: ' * EDWARD BERRY ESQUIRE * CAPTAIN OF H.M.S. THE VANGUARD ON THE 1 OF AUGUST MDCCXCVIII THE FRENCH FLEET DEFEATED'. The medal is fitted with a watch glass on obverse and a gold rim fitted with a loop, ring and bar, the ribbon is missing.
