Naval Gold Medal (Captain's) for the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805, reverse
Captain's Naval Gold Medal for the Battle of the Trafalgar, 1805 awarded to Charles John Moore Mansfield (1760-1813). Inscription reverse: 'CHARLES JOHN MOORE MANSFIELD ESQUIRE CAPTAIN OF H.M.S. MINOTAUR ON THE 21 OCTOBER MDCCCV THE COMBINED FLEETS OF FRANCE AND SPAIN DEFEATED'. The medal is in its original circular red case. It is fitted with a gold rim with both sides glazed with watch glasses to protect the surface.
