Naval reward medal; reverse
Naval reward medal. Obverse: An anchor encircled by a waving rope; hanging from the beam the arms of St George's cross for England and a harp for Ireland. Reverse: A naval engagement with a ship sinking in the foreground. Fitted with a loop and ring. Vice-Admiral J. Peacock was mortally wounded on board the 'Triumph' on July 31 1653. The ship caught fire, and it took heroic measures to save her.
