Nelson's chelengk presented by Sultan Selim III of Turkey
Diamond chelengk presented by Sultan Selim III of Turkey to Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) after the Battle of the Nile in 1798. The chelengk is a turban ornament consisting of a central flower of sixteen petals with leaves and buds, which originally revolved by clockwork. The stalk of the flower is tied by a bow, above it are thirteen rays representing the ships captured at the Nile, which vibrated as the wearer moved.
