Nelson's secret memorandum, front page
Edward Codrington captained 'Orion' at the Battle of Trafalgar. This is his copy of the secret memorandum issued by Nelson explaining how he planned to engage the French fleet. Nelson had earlier outlined these tactics to his captains over dinner on 29 and 30 September 1805.
