Off Blackwall Docks. Showing the 'Brunswick' 'Propellor' and 'Waterman'

Hand-coloured. This print shows Brunswick Wharf, the London & Blackwall Railway Company's terminus at Blackwall. In 1835, the Green family of Blackwall shipbuilders sold the land on which the terminus was built by W. Tite FRS. The Company operated regular steamship services to Gravesend from 1840. Several paddle steamers are nearby, including the 'Brunswick' is to the right of the picture, the 'Waterman No 1' and 'Propellor' to the left. In the background are the masts of the sailing vessels in the East India Export Dock, which lay just behind the terminus.
