Ordnance model; Gun model

Model of a gun on a carriage. The gun is turned in wood and painted matt black and is complete with a breech metal chain running through the rear of the gun. The wooden carriage is complete with metal constructional fittings such as bolts and eye-bolts and is painted black. There are four metal wheels, all of which can be rotated through 270 degrees and locked into position by a metal latch on a toothed cog. The gun itself can be removed from the carriage by releasing the clamps over the trunnions. There is a brass plaque inscribed "Commander H. Fleming is the inventor of this model which is a portion of King Henry V 's cradle a relic in the possession of his Grace the Duke of Beaufort. Troy House July 1830." A paper label attached to the model reads "Long wooden gun on a wooden carriage with iron swivel trucks".
