Scale: 1:12. Model of a carronade, which is mounted on a wooden carriage that pivots on the deck and also slides back for reloading. The section of deck and ships side is built plank on frame entirely of wood, with iron knees on the underside of the deck beams, and is finished in a dark natural wood. Above deck is a large cylindrical pivot, which holds the carriage in position and also allows movement of the gun within a 30 degree arch of fire.
The lower portion of the wooden carriage is fitted with a pair of revolving metal wheels and pair of threaded locking bolts with handles. The upper part of the carriage is fitted with a slide mechanism to allow the carronade to be fun in and out for firing and loading. The carronade has been cast and then turned in a bronze alloy mixture, and is secured to the carriage with a pair of hinged trunnion brackets. It is muzzle loaded with a touch hole at the end of the gun and there is a working threaded bolt for adjusting the elevation. There are fittings on the gun carriage and the ships side to indicate the use of rope tackles for working the gun. To train the gun round on its pivot there are two steel lined rectangular holes in the lower carriage to fit wooden bars for handling by the gun crew.
