Scale: 1:8. Model of an eight-inch gun on its carriage. Both the gun and carriage are largely constructed in a dark stained wood, and include various fittings, such as eye bolts and trunnion clamps for working the gun with its tackles. At the front of the carriage, a pair of circular wheels are fitted inside the body, whilst at the rear is a raised wooden skid with a movable metal fitting for the operation of a lifting bar, which would be used for traversing or moving the gun from side to side. The gun carriage itself has suffered from woodworm in the past and is also stamped on the right-hand side with a an image of a small field gun below which are the letters "MA" and below that the numbers "6524". On the forward end of the gun barrel is inscribed the Rotunda Museum catalogue number "25/289".
