Passengers for the 'Oronsay' at Tilbury
A social hostess, welcoming passengers aboard the Orient Line's 'Oronsay' at the new Tilbury Passenger Terminal in 1957. The Terminal offered new standards of comfort for travellers into and out of the port of London. The 'Oronsay' served the Australia route. She could carry 668 first-class and 833 tourist-class passengers.
She was transferred to the main P&O service in 1962, then she was scrapped in 1975.
