Pearlware tea bowl
A pearlware tea bowl without handles and a deep saucer bothe with ochre painted rims. The saucer is transfer-printed in brown with hand-colouring in red, yellow, green and pink. A central scallop-shaped reserve, contains a ribbon inscribed 'TRAFALGAR' placed across the staff of a British ensign, flying above a gun, laurel branch and inverted foreign flags. The trophies are flanked by a pyramid and crocodile representing the Battle of the Nile and a fortress representing the Battle of Copenhagen. On either side of the scallop is a pair of tritons, blowing seashells, their tails entwined. The saucer has a border of a Greek key pattern, rose, thistle, shamrock, anchors, crossed palm and laurel branches. The tea bowl has the scallop device in the interior and two pairs of tritons on the exterior with an inner key pattern border.
