The pistols are half-stocked in walnut inlaid with silver wire scroll work and fitted with a grotesque mask of silver over the butt. There is an oval silver escutcheon plate on which is engraved a family crest. All other parts of the pistols are of steel. The locks are boxlock, flintlocks mounted centrally with a flashguard to the rear of the pan, in the centre of which is the vent and a sliding safety catch to the rear of the cock which will engage at both full and half cock positions.
