Plate used on HMY 'Victoria and Albert' (1899)
Dinner plate, part of a service made for HMY 'Victoria and Albert' (1899) and used in the wardroom. The saucer is made of white porcelain and is painted with blue scrolling foliage decorated with gilding. In the centre, a garter belt and buckle badge with a crown above, is inscribed 'HER MAJESTY'S YACHT'. The rim is slightly indented and is gilded with a fine blue line inside. The maker's name and date letter is impressed on the base.
