Porcelain made to the order of Alexander Davison (1750-1829), Nelson's prize agent

One of a small number of such pieces presented to Rear-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) after the battle of the Nile. The sides of the mug are painted with coloured versions of the obverse and reverse of Davison's Nile Medal. The obverse shows Peace holding an oval shield on which is Nelson's portrait inscribed 'EUROPE'S HOPE AND BRITAIN'S GLORY', and the legend 'REAR ADMIRAL LORD NELSON OF THE NILE.' The reverse shows the English and French fleets in Aboukir Bay with the legend 'ALMIGHTY GOD HAS BLESSED HIS MAJESTY'S ARMS'.

Delivery & returns

We print everything to order so delivery times may vary but all framed pictures are despatched within 5-7 days via courier or recorded mail.

Due to the coronovirus pandemic and Brexit situation, current shipping times may be longer, particularly for destinations outside the UK.

Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.
