Portrait of a Dutch two-decker
A Dutch two-decker viewed from the port bow. The fore and main lower masts are shown with the courses clewed.
This drawing is rubbed on the back and is possibly an offset completely worked up with pencil which might be by the Younger, but with an unskilful wash added to the side of the ship by the Elder. There is a drawing of the 'Jaarsveld' in the Victoria and Albert Museum, which may have been used as a basis for this drawing.
