Portrait of a flag officer
A portrait of an unidentified flag officer wearing dress uniform 1767-1783. This three-quarter length portrait shows the officer in a white wig. His left hand is on his sword and he points with his right. The portrait was once thought to be of Sir Chaloner Ogle, Admiral of the Red 1726-1816, however Romney's head and shoulders portrait of Ogle in the Metropolitan Museum, New York does not resemble this work.
