Portrait of the 'Parma'
The 'Parma', a four masted barque built at Glasgow 1902. Bought by Captain de Cloux and Alan Villiers in 1931, she was registered at Mariehamn and flew the Finnish flag. She was chartered under the command of de Cloux to load 5,000 tons of wheat in South Australia for Falmouth for order in 1932 and 1933. She raced with 20 other sail ships from Australia to Falmouth. Image taken from the ships boat to the port side. Full sail. Calm sea.
