Portrait of the 'Thomas and Elizabeth'
This is a ship portrait, viewed from before the starboard beam. It has been inscribed in brown ink in the upper left-hand corner: d Tomas d lisbet fer, which is copied from a cut inscription also in ink on the back of the drawing.
This is a very rapid, but accurate, drawing. It has been approximately dated to 1690 by its subject matter.
