Presentation cutlass
Presentation cutlass, the cutlass belonged to Captain Henry Theodore Augustus Bosanquet 1870-1959. The hilt of the cutlass consists of a solid brass half-basket guard ending in broad short quillon. The cutlass has a smooth rounded pommel with a steel tang button and a smooth brass back-piece and ferrule. There is a hole for a sword knot, which is now missing. The brown leather grip was originally bound with gilt wires, of which now only two remain.
