Profile & Bridges plan for 'Pert' (1916)

920 x 345 mm

Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines with inboard detail as fitted for Hecla (1798), a 10-gun, ship-rigged bomb vessel (a converted merchant vessel 'Scipio'). The bomb vessel, armed with mortars, was used for bombarding stationary targets including enemy vessels and harbours. Seven bomb vessels were used during the Battle of Copenhagen in 1801, firing over the British and Danish squadrons to attack the warship harbour and defences of Copenhagen itself.
