Gold ring, the ring's shoulders are decorated with a foliage motif. Set into the bezel of the ring is an oblong sliver of wood. The inside of the ring is inscribed with the words 'Part of ye canoe used by Captn Franklin RN in his land Arctic Expedition 1819-22', which relates to Sir John Franklin (1786-1847), the Arctic explorer. The ring is contained within a round pillbox.
