Royal Marines sword
Royal Marines sword, the hilt of the sword consists of a gilt openwork half-basket guard, with the Queen's cypher 'VR' and a crown inserted in the outward bars. The sword has a gilt pommel and back-piece. The black fish-skin grip is bound with two gilt wires. The slightly curved steel blade has a flat back and one broad groove running to a double-edged spear point.
