Scale: 1:200. A full hull model of the German battlecruiser 'Scharnhorst' (1936), made entirely in wood with metal and organic material fittings and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted red below the waterline with a broad black stripe above and black above the waterline. Hull details include heraldic shields with blue grounds on the port and starboard hulls; intermittent portholes on three decks; bilge keels; three three-bladed propellers; and two rudders. Other features include a Nazi flag flying from the bow and a German naval ensign flying from the stern; two gun turrets one forward and one aft, all with two guns; main superstructure with open bridge and a small wooden mast; a single vertical funnel with a sloping top; five small guns on each of the port and starboard sides; an airplane stowed on a catapult with its retrieving crane; and tall mainmast with tripod lower section. The model is mounted on a pair of shaped wooden crutches and displayed on a rectangular wooden baseboard with bevelled edges and bun feet.
