Seascape from the 'Penaglis M. Hadoulis'
A sketch showing the effects of the sea and the sky from the deck of the steamer ship, 'Penaglis M. Hadoulis'. The calm sea is flooded with light, contrasting with the dark slashes of purple and mauve to indicate the waves. The sky is painted yellow and cream interspersed with small patches of blue-grey cloud. The brilliance of the sun is indicated on the right and the rays radiate across the sketch in slashes of pink. The yellow rays are reflected on the surface of the water. Everett sailed in the Greek-owned steamer,'Penaglis M. Hadoulis', from Cardiff, Wales, to Montevideo, Uruguay, and back between December 1931 and March 1932.
