Seascape from the 'Penaglis M. Hadoulis'
A sketch of the sea from the 'Penaglis M. Hadoulis'. The artist has concentrated on the effect of waves in a calm sea. From a viewpoint close to the water the artist has focused on the patterning created by the rhythm of the waves and the appearance of waves breaking and forming crests. The surface of the water is broken with undulations of darker blue paint loosely sketched to indicate the waves. Although no sky is shown, light plays across the surface of the water in the centre of the image to show the reflections from the sun.
