Seascape from the 'Suzanne'
A sketch of a seascape from the 'Suzanne', showing an empty horizon. The painting concentrates on the effects and appearance of cloud above a calm deep green and blue sea. The sea has been roughly sketched with the presence of a few light horizontal brush strokes suggesting the movement of waves. The bank of cloud is shown as blocks of creamy grey and at the point where they meet the horizon a darker horizontal band of paint may imply land.
