Sectional model
Scale: Unknown. A model of the bow of a large three-deck warship, possibly a first rate, made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. The hull below the waterline is painted to imitate coppered verdigris, the remainder is painted black with three broad white stripes along the gundecks that extend to the stempost and mounting for the figurehead. The inboard bulwarks are green and the four depicted decks are cream and scored to imitate planking. The section face is open to show the arrangement of decks. The forecastle has a circular aperture aft and there is a locating point in the deck immediately below indicating the model one had a fractured foremast. This deck also has marks forward indicating that the model also once had a fractured bowsprit. Four gunports are shown on either side of each of the three gundecks, some of which retain hinged lids and all of which have inner faces painted red. There are a further eight gunports on the forecastle. Fittings include a pair of catheads and whisker booms. The model is displayed on an almost square mahogany baseboard with four turned feet.

Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.
