Sectional model of HMS 'Vernon' (1832)

Scale: 1:48. A model depicting the elliptical stern of HMS 'Vernon' (1832) , warship; 4th rate; 50 guns, made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The port side of the stern shows the framing and the starboard side, the vessel as completed. The hull is brick red below the waterline on the starboard side, black above and the gallery and stern quarter decoration is highlighted in ochre. Six gunports are depicted, two on the gundeck, the remainder on the poop. All the depicted windows have nine lights, two windows are open with fine wire glazing. Oakleaf decoration is painted above the windows and the righthand half of a ship's name and inscription reads 'BELLO' and 'PER VIRET'. The poop deck, painted light brown, is devoid of detail. The model is a working model. The full frames are painted on the port side, the voids of the filling frames are painted a dark brown.
