Sextant by Edward Troughton, circa 1820
Brass strait-bar pattern pillar frame (20 pillars), wooden handle. Signed on the limb 'Troughton, London', and marked 'platina', and on the centre strut '1003'. Platina scale from -5 to 150 by 10', measuring to 125. Platina vernier to 10'', zero at right. Index glass adjustment by screw, horizon glass by detachable milled knob and flange screw. Tangent screw and clamp on the back of the index arm. Four shades (red, red, orange, green), three horizon shades (red, orange, green). Magnifier on 70 mm swivelling arm. Telescope bracket in two parts, fitted for correcting collimation error, perpendicular adjustment by rising piece and milled knob. Telescope (74 mm) erect image, telescope (182 mm) inverted image, two cross wires, spare eyepiece section (90 mm) erect image, four cross wires. Sight-tube (126 mm), two shaded eyepieces (both orange), milled key. Radius 8.25'' (205 mm). In mahogany keystone box, containing in the lid trade labels for W.C. Cox, 93 Fore Street, Devonport, 35 South Side Street, Plymouth, and Troughton & Simms, 138 Fleet Street, London.Edward Troughton

Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.
