Ships on the River Ij in front of the Tollhouse near Amsterdam (before conservation in 2008)

A scene near the toll house on the north bank of the River Y, the waterfront and harbour of Amsterdam which led into the Zuider Zee. On the left a Dutch yacht with a visiting German prince on board, fires a salute and flies the German standard and ensign. The prince may be the figure indicated on the deck, raising his hat while a fanfare is played in the stern.
