Sketch of the South-Coast of Africa

A sketch map of the South-West African coast, from Cape Lopez (Gabon) through Cape Padrao (Congo River mouth, Zaire), Ambriz (Angola), Novo Redondo (Angola) to Lobito Bay (Angola). The remarks and annotations on this map give nautical, geographic and provisioning information, with the exception of a note written near Cape Padaroa (Padrao), marked by crosses: 'About a mile to the southward of Cape Padaroa where the crosses are is a small inlet where they ship their slaves without going up the river. A vessel can lay to snug - hull be the trees - that a vessel going close round Cape Padaroa may not see her at our case in the Grappler for we towed part out the river without seeing her, but as we came out of the river in the morning she was described from the mast head. Sweeping out we took her - a Brigantine called Sapphira - with 479 slaves in.'

Manufactured in the UK

All products are printed in the UK, using the latest digital presses and a giclée printmaking process.

We only use premium branded inks, and colours are independently verified to last between 100 and 200 years.

Delivery & returns

We print everything to order so delivery times may vary but all framed pictures are despatched within 5-7 days via courier or recorded mail.

Due to the coronovirus pandemic and Brexit situation, current shipping times may be longer, particularly for destinations outside the UK.

Delivery to the UK is £10 for a single framed print.

We will happily replace your order if everything isn’t 100% perfect.
