Small-sword of Civil Branch, Royal Navy (Purser)
The gilt small-sword-type hilt has an olive pommel, rudimenatry pas d'ane and flat, plain shell with the reverse half-hinged. The black fish-skin grip is bound with three gilt wires and on the obverse side is a brass tablet engraved with crossed foul anchors.
