Solid half-basket hilted sword
Solid half-basket hilted sword, the hilt of the sword consists of gilt solid half-basket guard with raised bars and a crown and anchor badge. There is no folding/hinged flap. The sword a lions'-head pommel and back-piece, the mane extending one-third of the length of the back-piece. The sword knot consists of blue and gold rope& the rest of the knot is now missing. The white fish-skin grip is bound with three gilt wires. The curved steel blade has a pipe back and a double-edged spear point. The obverse of the blade bears the words 'Prosser Maker to the King and HRH the Lord High Admiral London', and is decorated with the Royal arms, a lion and a crown motif.
