Somerset House and London Bridge
Image information
Somerset House and London Bridge
Two pencil sketches by the marine artist William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931), the first showing Somerset House on the north bank of the Thames, and the other a simple sketch of London Bridge. Until the Embankment was built in the 19th century Somerset House stretched down to the water's edge and the arched southern frontage of the building still has mooring rings.
