Sphere and stand
Terrestrial table globe. Geographical details on the sphere include two notes in the north polar area: 'the sea seen by Mr. Herne in 1771' and 'the sea seen by Mc..kenzie 1789'. Australia is labelled 'NEW HOLLAND', but its south coast is not outlined. 'VAN DIEMENS LAND 1642' is drawn as an island. There is a note on Cook's death: 'Owhyhee Here Capt. Cook was killed, 14 Feb, 1779'.
