In North America there is a note on a discovery that reads 'AMERICA SEPTENTRIONALIS a Christophoro Columb. 1492 detecta'. The Strait of Ie Maire is mapped and labelled 'Fret. le Maire'. There is a hypothetical southern continent with the label 'TERRA AUSTRALIS INCOGNITA'. There is a comment in New Guinea. A total of ten oceans are named.
