A flatback Staffordshire, earthenware figure depicting Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh (1844-1900). He is shown in naval uniform holding a straw hat and standing beside a chair with his right arm over the back. The figure is glazed and painted in underglaze enamels and overglaze black. 'PR. ALFRED' is moulded across the base which is decorated with a gilt line.
