Virtually fully stocked to muzzle and fitted with a steel butt plate and trigger guard. Fullers each side of the fore-end afford a grip for the left hand. A single steel band, secured by a forward spring round the stock, acts as a sling swivel with the rear sling swivel under the butt. A steel lug is fitted to take a bayonet and a steel cleaning rod is also fitted. The lock is bolt operated above a magazine. The barrel is rifled and fitted with a blade foresight and a ramp rear sight sighted from 200 - 2,000 metres with a relieving groove to admit its use at low ranges. The calibre is 0.25in. Inscribed on left side of action: 'STEYR 1914', on top of the breech: 'Greek Arms over Y.1903/14'; serial number '3560A' on breech, bolt and butt. Greek Arms on the left side of the butt within a circle and inscription in Greek. Figure of St George and the Dragon on breech and wrist of the stock. This rifle was collected by a landing party from HMS 'Implacable' at X beach, Gallipoli April/May 1915.
